To date, several scholars have conducted studies on the effects of divorce on children. These studies show that children with divorced parents are disadvantaged in different life outcomes, including the likelihood of dropping out of high school, cognitive skills, psychosocial well being and social relations Children of divorce generally agree that marriages end in divorce with dysfunction and conflict before the official separation. This idea of negative pre-divorce effect is based on two ideas, one being martial conflicts and second their negative influence on children development.
