Blog #6 (response)

Last week, my classmates in group A all showed examples of some social issues being presented in media. Media does a lot of filling the blanks where they feel is needed, which sucks because we do not get the true story and we definitely aren't learning anything. They tend to leave out the information that would inform and teach people. They leave out the research and studies that sociologist have already discovered, to prove or at least give reason as to why certain things may be happening. Media also tends to tell stories from different perspectives. One of my classmates, put up articles about children who have disabilities not being shown the attention they need. But the one thing that stuck out to me was the video, that showed a child on a school bus who was being bullied and got hurt. And the saddest part is that the played mind to the bully and not the victim who was hurt and not even paid attention too. Media is always very biased to the person writing or filming the news.

What bothers me most about this is that people who don't realize these things about media, expect what their saying to be the truth and at least most of the things they need to know.
